1. The Balfour declaration was a declaration by James Belfour, on behalf of the British government, of sympathy with the Jewish Zionist movement. The declaration states Britain's support, as long as it doesn't harm the rights of non-Jews in Palestine. The declaration was written specifically to Lionel Walter Rothschild, the honorary president of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland.

3. The early analyses of the situation of Arabs in Palestine was that they'd be welcoming of the Jews and all the Jews would have to offer to their community. Though there were some, most notably Ahad Ha'am, who noted that the Arabs might not want the Jews to emigrate to their homeland. Revisionist Jews believed that if Arabs didn't want to live under Jewish rule, they had to leave.
