1. Why did Jews support socialist movements and become involved in them?


Jews supported socialist movements, in specific Zionistic movements, because they introduced movements and ideologies that were against anti-semitism. Some Jews even became part of Soviet movements against fascism because it would bring improvements in the situation of the Jews in those lands.

  1. This answer doesn't explain why Jews were attracted to socialism in particular, separate from Zionism.
