3. Q: What was the "Jew Count" of 1916 in Germany?
A: A census that tried to figure out if the accusations of the Jews dodging the draft were true or untrue. This was caused due to Germans wanting to know why their quick victory didn't occur. From there, they accused the Jews of compromising their military efforts due to shirking service and dodging the draft. Despite the results of the census never being published, this was a significant moment in German Jewish history. Due to this, Jews no longer believed that non-Jewish Germans accepted the Jews process of social integration and acculturation.
