1. What problem/s for Jews did the varying kinds of Zionism propose to solve?
Zionism helped the Jews make their way to Israel and take the land from the Palestine, because the Jews believe that it is the chosen land for the chosen people. This was apparent in the 19th century during the British discourse.
This was explicitly not the justification for Zionism in the 19th century. The Zionists were aggressively anti-religious, for the most part, and they sought a homeland in Palestine because of the historical associations with it.
